On February 3, 2021, some members of CRRI leadership in Nigeria under the directive of CRRI Board Chairman Dr. Celestine Atangcho met with the head of the UNHCR sub office and his close collaborators in Ogoja.

This sub office covers the four states in Nigeria that harbor over 90 percent of the Southern Cameroonian refugees in Nigeria namely Cross River, Taraba, Benue , and Akwa Ibom.

Discussions centered on information sharing and collaboration in order to better serve the refugee population and avoid duplication of efforts.

The new head of sub office Mr. Tesfaye Bekele was briefed on CRRI’s activities on the ground; the livelihood training programs, the career and empowerment center initiative, as well as the multiple medical and nutritional outreaches carried out across the jurisdiction covered by the sub office and even beyond.
