CRRI Multipurpose Vocational Center in Ikom Nigeria

This project is aimed at creating a workshop, which is a space for IDPs who have benefited from our training program to practice their skills, gain experience and make a living for themselves and their families.

In this center, experts will be invited regularly to empower learners and interns with skills needed to move forward in their careers. This workshop will host various specialities including:

  • Carpentry
  • Tailoring
  • Hairdressing
  • Auto Mechanic
  • Auto Electricity
  • Bakery and Food Processing
  • Glasswork
  • Metal Work

This center will host three major activities:

Training:

Refugees will have a space to receive training on various vocational skills that can empower them to get work, providing them with a source of livelihood and enabling them to sustainably take care of themselves and their families.

Internship:

Refugees who have previously gone through training will be able to get quality internship at the Multipurpose center, enabling them sharpen their skills and become ready for various jobs.

Employment:

The goal of the center is to provide all the necessary tools and a suitable workspace for refugees who have completed training. They will be able to render their services at the center and in turn get steady salaries to take care of themselves and their families.

Progress is currently being made on the building that will host the center. We recently got this building on lease and currently doing renovation works and securing necessary equipment.

Take a look at the photos below, showing the progress we have made so far in renovating the infrastructure.
